Walnut Kitchen Worktops (African)
Our A+ Grade (FAS) African Walnut Kitchen Worktops mature to a rich dark brown with irregular dark lines, hence its other name - Tiger Wood.
African walnut worktops are extremely hard, close grained, and water resistant making it a very practical designer choice.
Once oiled, African Walnut Worktops will begin to darken into a master piece with rich lighter and darker grains.
Other common names for African Walnut are Mpengwa (Ghana), Anamemila, Apopo, Sida (Nigeria), Bombulu (Zaire), Dibetou (Gabon, Ivory Coast), Congowood and Tigerwood (United States), Gabon Nut.
Note: IROKO & WENGE once matured and darkened will resemble the final look of African Walnut
We recommend that you add 1 bottle of Danish Oil per length of worktop. This would be enough for 3-5 coats and don't forget your upstands for that perfect rounding off of your new worktop.
