Black Sparkly Worktops
Black Sparkly Worktops are available in either Granite or Quartz. These worktops have small mirror particles mixed into the stone during manufacture which reflect the light and give a sparkle effect. At present the Corian® , Stone Effect and Laminate worktops do not offer any colours with a sparkle effect. Black sparkly worktops are highlighted with a * after the colour name (i.e. Astro black(Apollo)*) on the colour samples below.

Black Granite Worktops
Black Granite Worktops will introduce a feel of elegance and beauty to any kitchen and the hard wearing and long lasting natural attributes of Granite gives you the reassurance that the just installed look remains for many years to come. Black Gloss Worktops can be prone to scratches which can show up very visibly on the black gloss worktop finish, but due to the fact that Granite is one of nature’s hardest stones you can be assured that your black granite worktop will stay in its original condition just like the day you received it.
Although solid black Corian® Worktops can be produced they are not recommended for heavy traffic areas such as kitchen worktops. This is because the dark solid Corian® colours show up surface scratches and are much more difficult to maintain than the lighter or patterned colours. The colour samples below are the closest to a black worktop that are currently available and recommended for kitchen use.

As with Corian, our stone effect worktops are not produced in a solid black colour. The colour samples below are the closest examples of a black kitchen worktop in a stone effect finish.

Black Quartz Worktops
Black Quartz Worktops consist of approx 90% pure quartz and 10% high quality polymers that when put together in the form of a quartz worktop gets a high rating of 7 on the moh's hardness scale. This means quartz worktops are extremely durable, hardwearing and scratch resistant like granite. However the presence of the polymers in the quartz makes it a non porous surface unlike granite which is a porous natural stone.

Black Laminate Worktops
Laminate Worktops are the most cost effective solution to your black kitchen worktop requirement. We recommend the choice of textured or honed finishes for black laminate worktops as the gloss finish can be prone to scratching and any scratches that do appear are highly visible on a black worktop surface. Just like a black car, black kitchen worktops do show dirt and marks more easily than other colours and will require higher maintenance.
