Rubberwood
Rubberwood is wood from the para rubber tree (hevea brasiliensis), often called the Rubber tree and in Thailand it is also known as parawood.
Because of rubberwoods high acceptance to different finishes, furniture manufacturers use rubber wood to mimic woods such as rosewood and oak to achieve a more high end look at a much lower cost.
Rubberwood Worktops have a very dense grain that allows minimal shrinkage and a high durability level. This wood is also known as an environmentally sound raw material because most rubber wood trees that are used for furniture, building etc. have reached the end of their latex production and instead of being burnt they are put to better use.
